Why did I choose AHS? I chose AHS for a handful of reasons. First off, I like the small school feel. My previous school had atleast a thousand kids, so it felt way more cluttered, and far more judgemental. Here at Animas I feel like I can relate with people far easier, and it feels way more open. Another reason is my learning type. I'm a visual, auditory, and hands on kind of learner. The teachers make it easy for me to understand what's going on, and I'm rarely handed a textbook, which is not interesting to me. I also enjoy how the grades are more project and feedback based, not just another boring A, B, or C. Plus, grades always had me stressed out, and not interested in learning. Finally, it's a better environment for me. As stated, I like small schools. I also enjoy the roominess, the people, and the teachers. I especially enjoy the walk to and from school on the trail. All in all, I believe AHS was a great choice for my highschool career. "Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young." -Henry Ford
